Troubleshooting

Find the next step when an app will not start, a page will not open, or Lawn reports a problem.

An app will not start

Read the error in the app's detail view. If it needs settings, open Edit Configuration, fill in the required values, and save before starting it.

For other startup failures, use Recovery Options. You can retry, review an available update, reinstall the same version while keeping your data, or restore an available snapshot.

An app is running but not working

Expand Logs in the app's detail view to read its output. For apps with multiple containers, select the container you need.

If the problem began after an app update, you can restore the snapshot from before the update.

A page will not open

Check that the app is running. Follow Accessing Apps for its browser link and addresses. If its .local address does not work on the Mac hosting Lawn, try its localhost address. Other devices must be on the same local network.

Check the app's Ports for an Unavailable port. See Port Assignments for conflicts and changing a port.

For more detail, install the CLI and use lawn doctor to inspect Lawn status, app health results, ports, and local addresses.

Report a problem

Open Settings > General > Help & Support > Report a Problem…. Lawn prepares an email with Lawn and macOS version details and attaches diagnostics when available. Add what you were trying to do, what happened, and the error shown. Review the email and attachments before sending.

If Lawn cannot open email, send your report to lawn@unbeatable.tools. If Reveal Diagnostics in Finder is offered, use it to attach the diagnostics file; it remains available for up to one hour.
