Lawn v0.4.0

Custom catalogs, health monitoring, and smarter setups

Add public app catalogs in Settings and browse them alongside Lawn's built-in apps. Lawn now monitors running apps, explains unhealthy states, refreshes catalogs independently, and offers curated setup choices for more complex installs.

New Features

  • Custom app catalogs — Add public Lawn catalogs by URL in Settings, browse their apps alongside the built-in catalog, and update or remove them without using the terminal.
  • Built-in health monitoring — Lawn continuously checks running apps, marks problems as unhealthy, and shows clear issue details from the menu bar and app detail view.
  • Independent catalog updates — Lawn can refresh its app catalog without waiting for a new Lawn release, so new apps and template fixes can arrive sooner.
  • Smarter setup choices — Catalog apps can offer mutually exclusive setup choices that adjust the complete app configuration behind the scenes.

Improvements

  • The Catalog opens from its saved copy and refreshes in the background, with visible progress, retry controls, source badges, clearer errors, and richer app artwork.
  • Lawn now waits for running apps to shut down cleanly before closing, with a Force Quit option if cleanup stalls.
  • Installed apps retain the exact template they were installed with, and their installed template version is now shown in the detail view.
  • Local app addresses recover automatically after sleep, wake, or temporary network changes.
  • Installing additional copies of the same app now chooses unique names consistently, even when installs begin at the same time.
  • The Lawn website now includes dedicated catalog pages, clearer release navigation, community links, and improved keyboard and screen-reader support.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed existing apps becoming unavailable or losing their icons after upgrading to the new catalog system.
  • Fixed changing or resetting one port from overwriting sibling ports or losing TCP/UDP details.
  • Fixed app ordering in the sidebar resetting during background updates.
  • Fixed custom catalogs failing to update from tracked branches or getting stuck after a failed or cancelled add.
  • Fixed reachable apps being marked as unhealthy when they returned a different successful response.
